Dolberg came to Anderlecht two summers ago. “It was my expectation then, and that of Jesper Fredberg and Brian Riemer, to revive my career here. I am happy that everything went according to that plan,” the striker said. “I felt that I was important and decisive and that the club had confidence in me. That was fantastic.”

What next season brings is still a big question mark. Dolberg is under contract for two more years. This summer Anderlecht can cash heavily for the striker; next year will be less so. But does Dolberg want to leave? “As a family, we have it good in Belgium. I also feel good at Anderlecht and get along well with my teammates. You don't just throw that away.”

But Dolberg nods in agreement when asked if he still has the ambition to try higher up again. “I definitely have that, but then everything has to be right. I have no preference of destination, but don't rule anything out either. The club in question has to be able to convince me.”

“But I am assuming that I will start the preparation at Anderlecht,” he continued. “We'll see what happens then. The club and I had a good conversation. We have a clear picture of what needs to happen.”
