Official: Staff gets makeover with Biglia and Proto

OTHER Anderlecht has officially introduced the new members of its staff. Edward Still, Jérémy Taravel and Lucas Biglia will become assistant coaches at Besnik Hasi. Silvio Proto will become goalkeeper coordinator and Justin Verlinden will be the new goalkeeper coach.


The arrival of Edward Still had been known for a while. He comes over from Lens where he was assistant coach to his brother Will. Besnik Hasi wanted an ex-player as assistant and he now gets two. Jérémy Taravel played 338 games as a professional player for Cercle Brugge, Lille and Dinamo Zagreb. He worked as Ivan Leko's assistant at Standard last season.

Lucas Biglia became four-time champion with Anderlecht and then played for Lazio Roma and AC Milan, among others. He also played with Argentina in the 2016 World Cup final. Biglia joins the staff on July 26 as he is currently still working in AC Milan's youth academy and trying to get his UEFA A diploma there. He will be mainly concerned with the further development of the youngest players in the first team.

Silvio Proto is also returning to Anderlecht. The former goalkeeper, who won six championships with Anderlecht, will become goalkeeper coordinator and will be responsible for the goalkeepers of the A core and the academy. Proto comes over from RAAL La Louvière. Justin Verlinden comes over from Patro Eisden as the new goalkeeper coach. He is also the eldest son of ex-Club Brugge goalkeeper Dany Verlinden.

Anderlecht also says goodbye to Jonathan Alves, Yannick Euvrard and Justin Merz. Roel Clement remains at Anderlecht and reintegrates Anderlecht's youth training.
