INTERVIEWS In an interview with La Dernière Heure, Kjell Peersman admits he is interested in Anderlecht. "Whether my father is pushing me towards purple and white? No, he tells me to do what I feel good about," said the goalkeeper, who feels ready for a step up.

The 21-year-old Peersman had a strong season at Lierse, but is now training again at his parent club PSV. There he still has a one-year contract and they see him as a third goalkeeper.

“I feel ready to make the step to the Pro League and PSV wants to cooperate,” Peersman said. "If I sign anywhere, it's at least as a second goalkeeper. Some clubs immediately see us as competitors for a starting place, but I also don't say no to a future project at a big club."

The latter refers to Anderlecht. "Signing with Anderlecht would be special for me," he refers to his father Tristan's past at purple-white. "My father doesn't push me in any direction. He says I have to do what makes me feel good. What he went through at Anderlecht is in the past. I feel mentally strong, also because I lost my mother at a young age. My father has experienced the best and the most beautiful in soccer. That makes him the best possible guide."

“This week I hope to have clarity about my future,” Peersrman concluded.
