BK Häcken will be first opponent

GAMES Sweden's BK Häcken will be Anderlecht's first opponent in the preliminary round of the Europa League this season. The Swedes held Slovak Spartak Trnava to 2-2 after winning 0-1 last week.


Häcken did have some luck against the Slovaks. Trnava quickly scored the 0-1 that was disallowed. Immediately after, Häcken took the lead with a penalty. Despite more ball possession for the home team, Trnava pressed and after 65 minutes the signs were tied. The visitors drew courage and eight minutes before the end we seemed headed for extra time when it made 1-2. Six minutes into injury time, however, Dembe still leveled the boards.

Anderlecht will play against the Swedes next week at 8 p.m. in the Lotto Park. After that, two more preliminary rounds await Anderlecht before it can reach the pools of the Europa League. If it would be eliminated by Häcken, purple white will get another chance in the preliminaries of the Conference League.
