Hasi: "Very important, we absolutely want to compete"

INTERVIEWS Besnik Hasi spoke to the press before Anderlecht's first official match of the season. Tonight, they face Swedish team BK Häcken in the second qualifying round of the Europa League. Hasi is wary of the Swedes.


Hasi calls Häcken a team that shouldn't be underestimated and knows what they're doing thanks to their familiar playing system. They can count on a good mix of experience and young players. "They're especially dangerous on the counterattack with a number of fast players. It won't be an easy task for us," Hasi warned. The Swedes are currently eighth in their league.

Hasi absolutely wants to compete in Europe this season. "In terms of image for the club and the players, that's important. The group of players we have can also compete on three fronts," said Hasi.

Anderlecht will definitely be without Camara and Simic tomorrow evening due to injuries. Maamar is uncertain due to illness, and Huerta only recently returned after the Gold Cup. Coosemans, however, is ready.

Hasi ended the press conference with wise words. He said that reinforcements up front would still be welcome, but that the transfer window is far from over. "A lot is still going to change, at all clubs."
