INTERVIEWS Anderlecht coach Besnik Hasi didn't mince words after the match against Häcken: “Häcken deserved to win,” said the coach. “We were terrible. Nobody played to their usual standard. We played sloppily, were slow, and showed no intensity. Without intensity, we're going to have a hard time.”

Hasi admitted that the artificial turf was an advantage for the home team, but felt that this should not be an excuse. “In the first half, we fell short in every area. It could have been 2-0 or 3-0 at that point.”

The coach thought Anderlecht started the second half a little better and saw his team gradually get into the game after the equalizer. “But in that penalty phase, we were too slow in our defense,” he said, referring to the late 2-1 that led to extra time.

Hasi hopes his players will learn from this debacle. “We can't just rely on talent,” said the coach. “We have to move on and learn from our mistakes. This is a clear lesson for the next matches.”

Finally, Hasi also said something about Vroninks' early substitution. “It's easy to point the finger at him for the problems on that flank. However, he wasn't helped. The problem was that we couldn't keep the ball in the team. Maamar didn't do much better, either. The second goal also started on the right flank.”
