AEK Athens

AEK Athens finished fourth in Greece last season. This qualified them for the second qualifying round of the Conference League. There, they eliminated Hapoel Be'r Shiva from Israel (1-0 and 0-0).

The Greek team has many players whose names sound familiar. Razvan Marin (formerly of Standard Liège), Aboubakary Koïta (formerly of STVV), Frantzdy Pierrot (formerly of Mouscron), and Dereck Kutesa (formerly of Zulte Waregem) have a history in Belgium. Goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha was Lazio's number one for many years. Silvio Proto was his understudy at the time.

Guys like Erik Lamela (formerly of Roma, Tottenham, and Sevilla), Domagoj Vida (105 caps for Croatia), Luka Jovic (formerly of Real Madrid and AC Milan), Anthony Martial (formerly of Manchester United), Mijat Gaćinović (formerly of Frankfurt and Hoffenheim), and Roberto Pereyra (formerly of Watford and Udinese) also have extensive experience at the highest level.

Aris Limassol

Aris Limassol finished second in Cyprus last season and thus qualified for the second qualifying round of the Conference League. They won twice against Hungarian side Puskas Akademia (3-2 and 2-0).

The biggest name for the Cypriots is Aleksandr Kokorin. The 34-year-old Russian has 48 caps and has played for Limassol since 2022. Giorgi Kvilitaia has a history with Gent. 37-year-old Leon Balugun counts on his experience with various German clubs, Glasgow Rangers, and Nigeria.
