INTERVIEWS Anderlecht suffered a disappointing defeat against Zulte Waregem, conceding three goals at Lotto Park and ultimately losing by a goal in extra time. Anderlecht defender Marco Kana expressed his frustration: "We could have won this match or at least drawn it. Losing by a goal in stoppage time makes it even more painful," said Kana. He noted that Zulte Waregem had created few chances and played a primarily defensive game.

The vulnerability of the defense on counterattacks has been a recurring problem for Anderlecht this season. Kana explained: "We play high with our defense, sometimes even with individual marking. We want to take risks, but as defenders we always have to be alert to counterattacks. Today, that didn't work well and we conceded three goals."

After halftime, Kana felt Anderlecht could win the match, but he admitted the team had started too slowly. "The coach gave us a scolding during the break. A good start should be one of our strengths," he added.

Besnik Hasi decided to rest Enric Llansana, who has already impressed this season. His replacement, Saliba, however, failed to impress. Kana, however, didn't believe Llansana's absence was an excuse: "Our squad is large and of sufficient quality to cover some of the absences."

Despite the painful defeat and the defensive vulnerabilities, Kana remains optimistic about the rest of the season. "It's only the beginning of the season. We still have a lot of work to do, but the league is still long. This match is a good warning. We have to stay humble and approach every match with the right intensity. If we do that, we can beat anyone."
