Huerta leads the Purple & White to victory after the break

GAMES Anderlecht won 2-0 in Dender. The Purple & White played stiffly and struggled to find an opening until Dolberg and Huerta had their chances on the hour mark. The Mexican brought grit to the game and scored to make it 1-0. Shortly after, Hazard sealed the victory against Dender, who could barely threaten Coosemans. A deserved victory that was needed after the miscue against Zulte Waregem.
Anderlecht played a rather unmemorable first half. They started well with a great chance for Angulo, but the Ecuadorian hit the crossbar after a quick break. This was, incidentally, the only real chance before halftime. Anderlecht almost created several more dangerous chances, and Angulo was usually involved. Bertaccini was just unable to reach him on several occasions.

Continue reading Dender came back into the game after fifteen minutes, but they only managed a few crosses. They couldn't threaten Coosemans. The home side were particularly unwilling to concede a goal.
Anderlecht continued to try and surprise Dender after the break, lacking inspiration, but it was the home side that created the first danger. A cross from Goncalves suddenly hit the crossbar, and Kvet was also close to danger.
On the hour mark, Huerta and Dolberg came on, and the Mexican, in particular, would turn the game around, although Dolberg also made a positive impact. Anderlecht finally found a good opening in the 70th minute when Augustinsson sent Angulo through. The Ecuadorian found Huerta at the far post, who scored.
Dender started the final phase with three attackers, but Anderlecht doubled their lead. After Huerta won the game in midfield, Angulo was able to pass Hazard, who caught Verrips off-foot. A few minutes later, Verrips deny Hazard a second goal with a good leg reflex.
Anderlecht didn't play a great game, although the flow of play improved after the 0-1. Anderlecht thus takes home the necessary three points and has a free break next weekend. Incidentally, it's Anderlecht's first-ever victory at the Dender Football Complex.
