YOUTH During the long weekend of August 15, the traditional international U13 tournament took place in Bierbeek, with 25 renowned teams participating. Anderlecht's young players once again distinguished themselves by reaching the final and winning the title of best player. This tournament is crucial for the 2013 generation, who are preparing for their first season in the 11-a-side format. Anderlecht's U13s played a total of 10 matches against various opponents, with an impressive record of 5 wins and 3 draws.
Their only two defeats came unexpectedly, first against Cercle Brugge and then in the final against Frankfurt, where they were not at their best due to fatigue.
Despite a draw against OHL, who finished bottom of the table, the team maintained Neerpede's reputation. Anderlecht ultimately finished second, just ahead of Antwerp, who, based on last season's results, will be a major contender in the U13 category.
A highlight of the tournament was the selection of David Ngoura Zanga as the best player.
In the first round, Anderlecht earned 10 points, with their best result being a 4-0 victory against RWDM. In the second round, they collected another 7 points, which led them to the semi-finals, where they defeated Antwerp on penalties. However, the final ended in a 0-3 defeat to Frankfurt.
The final standings of the tournament were as follows:
Frankfurt
Anderlecht
Antwerp
Académie Hagi
