Official: Dendoncker finds new club in Spain

TRANSFERS Leander Dendoncker has signed a two-year contract with Real Oviedo in Spain. The midfielder was at a dead end at Aston Villa after a loan spell at Anderlecht last season also failed to deliver the hoped-for success.


Oviedo finished third in the Spanish Second Division last season and thus secured promotion to the top division. Last weekend, they lost 2-0 to Villarreal on the opening matchday. Notable players include 40-year-old captain Santi Cazorla and 35-year-old Venezuelan goalscorer Salomon Rondon. A few days ago, Oviedo also signed defender Eric Bailly (formerly of Manchester United).
