Anderlecht pushes for Konaté

TRANSFERS RSC Anderlecht is reportedly in the final stages of negotiations for the arrival of Cheick Oumar Konaté, a 21-year-old Malian defender from Clermont. Konaté, who can play as a right-back, central defender, or right midfielder, trained at Jean-Marc Guillou's academy in Bamako before moving to France. Last season, he made 33 appearances for Clermont, providing three assists.


Konaté is also a Mali international, with two caps and one assist to his name. His contract with Clermont runs until June 2026, with an option for an additional year.

RSC Anderlecht is reportedly willing to make a four million euro offer for the young defender.
