Leoni finds new club in Ligue 2

TRANSFERS Anderlecht has finally managed to sell Theo Leoni. According to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the midfielder is moving to Stade Reims. The French second division club is even paying €600,000 for him.


The French transfer window closed at 8 PM yesterday, but the deal was finalized on time. Reims requested Leoni's physical from Anderlecht during pre-season, meaning a thorough medical examination is not yet possible.

Stade Reims was relegated from Ligue 1 last season. They are currently fifth in Ligue 2 after four matchdays with 7 points. Karel Geraerts is the coach, and there are some familiar faces in the form of Belgian Maxim Busi (formerly of Charleroi), Joseph Okumu (formerly of Ghent), and Teddy Teuma (formerly of Union). Moreover, the club also signed Red Devil Norman Bassette.
