Official: Dolberg returns to Ajax

TRANSFERS Anderlecht's attacking line and goal production have been decapitated. Kasper Dolberg (27) is returning to Ajax after two seasons with the Purple & White. Dolberg was a guaranteed goal scorer, and his departure will derail Anderlecht's remaining ambitions this season.


Anderlecht picked up Dolberg from Nice after a number of poor seasons. Dolberg scored 44 goals in 96 matches over two seasons, and the Dane found stability in his performances again. Dolberg seemed set to stay on board this season as well, but Ajax managed to convince the Dane after Anderlecht's elimination from Europe.

The media reports that the transfer fee is around 10 million euros, possibly with a bonus. A loan period with a mandatory purchase option is therefore out of the question.

We'd like to thank Dolberg in advance for all those goals. A proper replacement for him will cost blood, sweat, and, above all, a lot of money.
