Anderlecht will have to step up next week after a disappointing 1-1 draw against AEK in Brussels. Despite delivering a strong performance with plenty of chances, only Dolberg managed to score before halftime. Goalkeeper Strakosha kept the Greeks in the game with several key saves, allowing AEK to equalize after the break. This leaves Anderlecht in a tricky position, though qualification is still within reach.

The match started brightly for the home side, as Anderlecht produced attractive football in the opening quarter-hour. Strakosha denied them on multiple occasions, including a close-range rebound from Dolberg. In the 21st minute, Dolberg finally broke the deadlock with a powerful strike, sending the Lotto Park into celebration. Anderlecht continued to dominate and even hit the post through Huerta just before halftime, while AEK created danger through Kutesa but failed to convert their chances.

After the break, Anderlecht remained in control and had golden opportunities to extend their lead. Hazard missed a clear chance from De Cat's assist, while Angulo headed wide. Inevitably, the missed opportunities came back to haunt them when substitute Eliasson equalized with a precise finish fifteen minutes from time. Hazard could have restored the lead shortly after, but his weak finish allowed Strakosha to intervene again.

In the final stages, Anderlecht pushed for a winner but lacked the sharpness to truly threaten. The 1-1 result means they will have to win in Athens to qualify. A small consolation is that AEK will be without captain Mantalos, who received a red card in the closing minutes. For Anderlecht, the pressure is high, especially after the bitter memory of their elimination against Häcken.
