OTHER Mario Stroeykens was visibly relieved after RSC Anderlecht's home victory against KAA Gent. According to the young striker, the Purple & White played a solid game, although he felt the score could have been higher. “We could have made it easier for ourselves by converting more chances, but the goal came at the right time.”

Compared to the game against Antwerp, Stroeykens felt that Anderlecht could have been more threatening in attack. “We created more danger today, which gives us confidence. You can feel that this team is taking a step forward.”

Teammate Nathan-Dylan Saliba also received praise from Stroeykens for his work in midfield. “His contribution was very important, he worked extremely hard for the team.”

Finally, Stroeykens admitted to being surprised by the league table. “To be honest, I didn't know that this victory would put us in second place,” he laughed.
