OTHER The Belgian Clasico between Anderlecht and Standard Liège will take place on October 5, with supporters of the Rouches returning to Lotto Park for the first time since December 2023. The return of 682 fans, who will travel under a strict combined travel arrangement, marks the end of almost two years of mutual exclusion between the two clubs. Although the permitted capacity is limited, it is nevertheless important for both the supporters and the clubs. Mayor Fabrice Cumps describes it as a "test," with the fans' behavior being closely monitored.

However, the tension is there. The incidents of December 2023 have left their mark, and the authorities are determined not to take any risks. The clubs have, however, expressed their ambition to return to normal.

Pierre François, Standard's general manager, hopes for a smooth match: "If all goes well, we won't ask for a reduced capacity for the second leg in Sclessin."

There's a sense of relief among the supporters. Gregory Ancart, president of the Famille des Rouches, emphasizes the importance of a safe and peaceful atmosphere: "A Clasico without opponents is a missed opportunity for the atmosphere. We've conveyed the message of responsibility and restraint. Our reputation is at stake."

There's a clear desire to make this return a celebration, rather than a fiasco. On the pitch, the match also promises to be exciting. Anderlecht, seeking stability, will face a motivated Standard, who are once again receiving support from the fans.
