INTERVIEWS After a few difficult weeks, Tristan Degreef stayed calm. Against OH Leuven, the young midfielder was back in the starting lineup for Anderlecht and showed character, despite the disappointing 1-1 draw.
In recent weeks, his mistakes – a penalty foul and a red card – have been heavily criticized. "After those moments, a lot has been said about me in the media," Degreef admitted honestly. "But I'll keep playing my own game and always give one hundred percent. I always hope to get minutes."
Degreef was also critical of the game's content. "We took the lead, and that was the toughest task today. Then you just have to hold on to that lead. OH Leuven played a lot of long balls; they didn't really play football."
Amidst the pressure and criticism, he also found a personal silver lining: a reunion with his former teammate David Hubert. "I hadn't spoken to him since he left Anderlecht. That was nice."
