OTHER Anderlecht's defense remains a topic of discussion. While Hey and Kana are conceding fewer goals than at the start of the season, expectations are still higher. With Ilic and Özcan, the purple and white still have two loaned central defenders on the bench, but they won't be going beyond that bench for now.
Özcan played the most minutes against AEK, but was then played as a full-back. This proved to be a less-than-successful move by coach Hasi. The Turkish player was substituted at halftime; Anderlecht were eliminated. Ilic, on the other hand, only played one minute.
Apparently, the two newcomers are still struggling with a certain physical disadvantage. Besnik Hasi demands high intensity, which the two of them might not be able to maintain for long periods of time. So there's a real chance that Hey and Kana will remain unchallenged in the heart of the defense for a while longer.
