Benktib leads U17 to convincing victory

YOUTH The Belgian U17 team won 6-0 against Belarus in their second match at the European Championship qualifying tournament. Three Anderlecht players saw action. One of them, Ilyas Benktib, opened the scoring after 10 minutes.


Benktib started the match, as did Joshua Nga Kana. Nga Kana was replaced after 58 minutes by Rune Verstrepen, also from Anderlecht. Benktib was substituted after 80 minutes.

Jayden Onia Seke is also in the selection for this three-match series, but was not in the starting line-up today. An injury?

With six out of six, Belgium is already certain of the next round. On Tuesday against Norway, which has four out of six, a draw will suffice to become group winner.
