OTHER Wouter Vandenhaute will not use his blocking minority to prevent the appointment of Michael Verschueren as ceremonial chairman of Anderlecht. This will be confirmed today during the board meeting.

Verschueren thus returns to the purple and white, where he was General Manager in 2019. He will take on a ceremonial role, while Kenneth Bornauw will take over the day-to-day management of the club as CEO.

Although the relationship between Vandenhaute and Verschueren had soured in the past, the shareholder, through his company Mauvavie (26.3% of the shares), has opted for calm within the club. “We don't want to bring RSCA to a standstill,” is the sentiment among those close to him.

It remains uncertain whether Vandenhaute himself will be present at the board meeting. He previously announced that he would leave his seat empty for the time being. Tomas Van den Spiegel represents Mauvavie on the board of directors.

With the approval of Verschueren and Bornauw, Anderlecht is taking a new step towards stability after a turbulent period of management.
