OTHER RSC Anderlecht has now also formally announced the return of Michael Verschueren as chairman, effective mid-November. This appointment is mainly a matter of protocol. “With his many years of involvement and recognized expertise in international football, Verschueren will contribute to healthy governance and further refine the club's long-term strategy,” the statement said. “In addition, he will focus on strengthening external relations,” the official statement on Verschueren added.
Verschueren also gave an initial response, stating that it is an honor to take on the chairmanship and that he wants to build a stable and ambitious future.
In the same official statement, the club also confirmed the appointment of Kenneth Bornauw as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In this role, he is responsible for the overall operational management of the club, both in sporting and non-sporting areas. He will therefore also report to Tim Vanheuverzwijn (Chief Financial Officer), Isabelle Vanden Eede (Chief Business Officer), Tim Borguet (Chief Sports Officer), and Olivier Renard (Chief Technical Officer).
Kenneth Bornauw also responded to his appointment. He began by thanking the Board of Directors for their confidence in him. “I look forward to taking on the day-to-day management of the club,” Bornauw continued. “Together with the team and everyone involved, I want to work towards creating a leading organization that is ready for the future,” he concluded.
