Stroeykens has a Belgian father and a Congolese mother. He was a regular in the Belgian youth teams in the past. In the past two years, he has played twelve international matches for the Belgian U21 team.

On November 13, Congo will play against Cameroon in the semi-finals of the African play-offs for the 2026 World Cup. A win will culminate in the final three days later. The winner of the final will qualify for the World Cup. If Stroeykens actually plays a single minute, he will never be able to play for Belgium again.
