Dreyer receives award in MLS

OTHER Former Anderlecht player Anders Dreyer, who was sold to San Diego FC in January, has been named Newcomer of the Year in Major League Soccer. The Dane was involved in an impressive 38 goals, evenly split between 19 goals and 19 assists.

Dreyer was directly involved in 59.4% of San Diego's 64 goals. In the rankings, Dreyer finished ahead of Son Heung-Min (formerly of Tottenham) and Philip Zinkernagel (formerly of Standard Liège and Club Brugge). Votes were cast by the media, players, and clubs, and Dreyer won by a wide margin.

Dreyer's statistics, as predicted, have proven to be a major loss for Anderlecht since his departure.
