OTHER Vincent Kompany made an unexpected visit to Anderlecht's training complex in Neerpede last week, much to the delight of the technical staff and former player Besnik Hasi. During an informal coffee meeting, a warm atmosphere developed, in which Kompany emphasized that Neerpede will always remain a home for him, as it does for players such as Lukaku, Tielemans, and Vanden Borre. The name of Nathan De Cat was deliberately avoided: “Kompany has enough information about the player himself,” he said.
Hasi also said that De Cat is surrounded by excellent people within his family. “Nathan needs to stay in his cocoon, surrounded by his family. But that's working well. I never talk to him about money, even now that astronomical sums are circulating, only about football,” he added.
A meeting is planned for this Sunday between Hasi and Anthony Vanden Borre, who currently works in the social department of La Louvière. Hasi speaks with great respect about the defender. “He was one of the best Belgian fullbacks ever, with a strong character but a lack of proper guidance in the past.”
