GAMES Anderlecht did not play a good match in La Louvière, but they still take the important three points home. In a tight game the Mauvesdid create a few openings. Camara wasted the best one after the break. Anderlecht were sloppy, but in stoppage time substitute Kanaté headed a fine free kick by Verschaeren into the net.

Ten minutes into the second half La Louvière had to clear a bouncing ball off the line, but La Louvière themselves also threatened, notably through Afriyie and thanks to sloppy passing from the visitors.
After the substitutions, with Verschaeren and Stroeykens coming into play, Anderlecht steadied. Sardella fired a good effort and Camara had a really good chance in the 70th minute. He was found by a long ball from De Cat, but instead of finishing himself he laid the ball back and the opportunity died a quiet death. The offensive soon fizzled out and the match looked set to finish 0-0. But in stoppage time they were awarded a free kick after De Cat was brought down. Verschaeren delivered it well and substitute Kanaté nodded it straight in. The young forward even had an extra chance to make it 0-2.
Not a good performance from Anderlecht; nobody in the attacking department reached their level. But it is a quality to be able to win even poor games, and Anderlecht succeeded at that today with flying colours. Next weekend brings the home match against Union and the start of the second half of the season.
