INTERVIEWS Besnik Hasi was pleased with the victory against Union, but he is not letting it go to his head and wants to keep both feet on the ground. Intensity, speed, and physicality were all there, but he believes the team still lacks routine at times. He also emphasized the importance of players such as Killian Sardella, Adriano Bertaccini, and Ilay Camara, who have all recovered from injuries.

“This victory is only a small step in the right direction for Anderlecht,” the coach assured.

He is not focusing on the good results in the standings this weekend and even puts them into perspective, pointing out that Brugge and Union have played more games (European) than Anderlecht and so it is logical that they are now losing points. “But the supporters have the right to talk about the title,” he responded to the ambitions that are beginning to take hold among the fans. “We have three objectives this season: to do better than last year, to develop young players, and to build a foundation on which we can build,” he said.

Hasi concluded that his team undoubtedly dropped back too much in the second half, but the credit for that goes to Union. “Still, they only had one real scoring opportunity in the end,” he also noted. “This victory is one of a well-coordinated team,” he concluded.
