TRANSFERS According to Sacha Tavolieri, Anderlecht is one of the clubs interested in Christian Benteke (34). The striker's contract with DC United is expiring, and the former Red Devil will be a free agent as of January 1.
After Dolberg's departure, Anderlecht did not sign a new striker. When it became clear that Vazquez was struggling to meet expectations, Cvetkovic filled the position. The Serbian has already shown some nice things, but he is still young. It is therefore not surprising that Anderlecht is still looking for an additional striker. Benteke is reportedly considering a return to Belgium because he hopes to be selected for the World Cup.
Benteke scored 49 goals for DC United in three seasons and although his club hoped for a new agreement, they have not succeeded. The striker has also scored 18 times for the Red Devils and has played for Aston Villa, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, Genk, Standard, KV Mechelen (loan) and Kortrijk (loan) in the past.
