TRANSFERS Keisuke Goto was once again the star of the show. The Japanese striker, on loan from Anderlecht to STVV, proved particularly efficient and worked his way to the top of the scoring charts. “These are goals from a real number nine,” he said after the game. “That's why I'm in the box. When those crosses and passes come in, you just have to react faster than your opponent.”
Goto also looked ahead to his team's ambitions. “After this game, I am completely convinced that we will qualify for the Champions' Play-offs. I have no doubt about that anymore.”
The question remains whether the striker will still be wearing the STVV shirt after the winter break. The loan contract clearly states that Goto will remain in Sint-Truiden until the end of the season and that there is no recall clause, but Anderlecht would still like to see if an early return is possible. However, Goto wants nothing to do with that. “That's out of the question,” he said resolutely. “I am 100% sure that I will not return early. I want to finish the season here and continue playing for STVV.”
