INTERVIEWS In an interview with Het Nieuwsblad, Francis Amuzu admits that his transfer to Gremio wasn't exactly a sure thing. "I even considered a return to Anderlecht in the summer," he admits. "I told my agent and we were in touch, but it never materialized."
Off the pitch, Amuzu and his family immediately felt comfortable in Brazil, but things didn't go smoothly on the pitch. He ended up on the bench and was even left out of the squad for a while. Things turned around in September: he's been playing a lot since then. "The league starts again next weekend. I want to continue on the same path as last season," he says. "Who knows, I might even be able to go to the World Cup with Ghana."
Amuzu still has a contract with Gremio until the end of this year. His goal remains to play in a major European league.
