The captain's group is a kind of players' council. This season, it consists of seven players, assembled by coach Besnik Hasi and captain Colin Coosemans. Two factors were important: experience and Anderlecht DNA. That's how the seven players were chosen: Colin Coosamens, Thorgan Hazard, Ludwig Augustinsson, Marco Kana, Killian Sardella, Mario Stroeykens, and Yari Verschaeren.
When the team is in a positive flow, the captain's group doesn't have much work. They might simply check in to see if everyone is feeling well and give an occasional pat on the back. Organizing group activities to strengthen team bonding is also part of their responsibilities. If things aren't going so well, the captain's group members will visit the coach more often to discuss matters. The captain's group also organizes the group meeting after the cup match against Ninove.
Furthermore, the captain's group is responsible for the fines fund and negotiates bonuses for European and cup matches.
