TRANSFERS RSC Anderlecht is about to officially announce Danylo Sikan (24) as its new striker. The Ukrainian was unable to fully establish himself at Trabzonspor, but has an impressive track record, including a world title with Ukraine U20 and Champions League experience at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Sikan grew up in Zhytomyr and took his first steps in football at FC Polissiya. His talent did not go unnoticed: after winning the youth world title in 2019, Shakhtar signed him. After loan spells at Mariupol and Hansa Rostock, he broke through at the top club, where he scored 31 goals in 116 games. In the 2023-2024 Champions League, he scored twice against Antwerp and scored the winning goal against FC Barcelona.

Continue reading The striker is known for being physically strong, team-oriented, and dangerous in transition. He is not a consistent finisher, but can strike suddenly, as with his historic hat trick of three goals in twenty minutes — the fastest of this century in Ukraine.
Off the field, Sikan presents himself as an outspoken personality. After the Russian invasion, he donated his gold World Cup medal to a charity auction for Ukraine. During a winter training camp in Turkey, he knocked out a drunk Russian provocateur, and earlier he demonstratively threw Russian flags in the trash.
With Sikan, Anderlecht doesn't only get a striker with international experience, but also a player with character and determination.
