OTHER The crisis meeting is over. Olivier Renard, his right-hand man Thibault Dochy and CEO Kenneth Bornauw decided that Besnik Hasi remains Anderlecht's coach — for now. Anderlecht stands at an important turning point this season. After a strong November in which they could even have topped the table, a very weak period followed: among other things a 4-0 defeat at Westerlo, losing points at the Lotto Park against Charleroi and Dender, and poor performances at Antwerp and Gent. At the moment Anderlecht no longer needs to look up the table but rather down, to safeguard a place in the Champions' Play-offs. It is not only the repeated loss of points, but also the very poor quality of play and wildly inconsistent performances, prompting claims almost every week that “this is the worst half of the season.”

Precisely now a difficult period begins, with league matches at Standard and at Genk and also the crucial Croky Cup semi-finals against Antwerp. Anderlecht therefore has a lot to lose — and to gain — in the coming weeks.

Hasi will sit on the bench on Sunday for the Clasico in Liège, but the result could very well decide whether he will still be there for the next game.
