TRANSFERS Anderlecht and La Louvière have announced the transfer of Majeed Ashimeru. The midfielder has been loaned to La Louvière until the end of the season by the purple-and-white. Transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that no purchase option was included in the deal. Ashimeru hopes to put himself back in the spotlight at La Louvière, not least to catch attention of Ghana's national coach with an eye on the World Cup.
Although he had extended his contract until 2027 just a year earlier, Ashimeru was pushed aside by Anderlecht last summer. Together with Mats Rits, Thomas Foket and Alexis Flips he was relegated to the B-squad. Ashimeru is now the first of that quartet to find temporary accommodation elsewhere.
