OTHER Edward Still is no longer Anderlecht's interim coach. He left the Purple & White on Monday morning and a few hours later was presented as head coach of Championship club Watford. This comes as a shock to Anderlecht, as after Hasi and Biglia, the Purple & White now also see Still leave the coaching staff just before a crucial cup match.
Watford seems to resemble Anderlecht in terms of its coaching merry-go-round: fourteen coaches have passed through since 2018. Still now succeeds Javi Gracia, who himself resigned due to a lack of motivation. His predecessor, Paulo Pezzolano, was dismissed at the end of last year in circumstances that caused quite a stir in England. And agent Bayat has something to do with that. He is said to have fielded players who are under contract with Bayat. The situation became so serious that even the English Football Association began to look at it with suspicion.
That is why the arrival of Still and assistant Karim Belhocine makes sense: both are represented by Bayat. Still signed a two-and-a-half-year contract.
