OTHER On Thursday 12 and Friday 13 February the court will hear the case concerning the sale of RSC Anderlecht. Several financial claims are central to the proceedings, including ones from club owner Marc Coucke, agent Christophe Henrotay and former manager Herman Van Holsbeeck. Marc Coucke, together with Anderlecht, is seeking a total of €8 million. He disputes a backdated 2017 contract under which agent Christophe Henrotay received a €2 million commission.
He is also demanding the return of €3 million that the club paid Henrotay in 2019 following a settlement over outstanding invoices. Anderlecht itself is also claiming that same €3 million back, although it is uncertain whether both the club and Coucke can legally lay claim to it. Christophe Henrotay, for his part, says Anderlecht still owes him €4 million under a €7 million agreement of which only €3 million was paid. His lawyer argues that Coucke suffered no loss.
Former club manager Herman Van Holsbeeck is claiming €1.7 million from Anderlecht after his dismissal, including unpaid fees and a promised bonus. Former CEO Jo Van Biesbroeck has no financial claims in the case and is mainly seeking to fend off possible damage claims against him. The court must now determine who is ultimately entitled to the millions at stake.
