INTERVIEWS The crisis at Anderlecht drags on and is causing concern even among the club's icons. After the departure of coach Besnik Hasi, several assistants and sporting director Olivier Renard, unrest reigns within the club while on-field results continue to disappoint.

Former players such as Jan Mulder, Paul Van Himst and Olivier Deschacht watch the situation with pain. Deschacht points primarily to a lack of mentality among the players and regrets that Hasi had to go. He calls on club owners Marc Coucke and Michael Verschueren to show more involvement and to give the squad an extra motivational push.

Other Anderlecht legends emphasize structural problems. Aad de Mos argues that Anderlecht urgently needs to appoint a strong technical director and to draw up a clear sporting vision. Filip De Wilde sees the high expectations and the club's glorious past as additional pressure, while Hugo Broos strongly criticises the current policy and speaks of an unprecedented malaise in the club's history.

Still, there is hope: the youth academy continues to be viewed as an important asset for Anderlecht's future.
