OTHER With the return match against Antwerp looming, Anderlecht face a tough task in the cup. After the narrow defeat in the first leg, the mauve-and-white must step up to still claim a place in the final. Interim coach Jérémy Taravel, however, continues to trust his squad's qualities and is concentrating on confidence, calm within the group and his own commitment to the club. Taravel says Anderlecht must start the game without fear and with a clear focus.

One goal could already be enough to force extra time, although he is well aware that an away trip to Antwerp is traditionally difficult. Still, he stresses the players have enough quality and self-belief to produce a good result. Preparations also included practising penalties, a potential deciding factor in a cup tie.

The coach wants above all to free his players mentally, with particular attention to the forwards. Training sessions have put heavy emphasis on finishing to rebuild confidence in front of goal. Taravel notes that players who have previously shown scoring ability can regain their form once their confidence returns — something he sees as crucial for turning the tide in big matches.

Beyond the sporting challenge, Taravel highlights his personal commitment to Anderlecht. Though he was offered a role abroad, he chose to stay with the club. He feels responsible towards the squad and does not want to abandon the team during a difficult period. He also positions himself as loyal to the club management and is prepared to work alongside any future head coach. With faith in the squad and a focus on stability, Taravel hopes to guide his team to a strong performance. The next match will show whether Anderlecht can overturn the deficit and still reach the cup final.
