OTHER According to Het Nieuwsblad, Alfred Schreuder is the only remaining candidate to take over as Anderlecht's new head coach. The paper reports that a personal agreement between coach and club is being prepared, but money will be needed to release the Dutchman from his current employer, Al-Diraiyah FC.

The offer on the table is for a contract of indefinite duration. The former Hoffenheim, Club Brugge and Ajax coach is reportedly keen to accept for sporting and family reasons, but remains under contract with Al-Diraiyah until the end of June.

The Saudi second-division side, currently third in their league, pays him well, yet Schreuder is said to be willing to accept a substantial pay cut to join the purple-and-white project. Anderlecht hope to reach agreements this week with both the coach and his current club. At the same time, Anderlecht are searching to strengthen the technical staff, where there is little depth following the departures of Edward Still and Lucas Biglia. If a deal cannot be struck, it appears that interim coach Taravel will remain in charge for a while longer.
