OTHER Parallel to the coaching issue, Anderlecht is also exploring options for the sporting director position. Several profiles were contacted, including Marc Overmars, Pascal De Maesschalck and Nils Koppen, but sources within the club say there are no concrete negotiations yet. Belgium's record champions are expected to have to pay financial compensation to free Alfred Schreuder for the coaching post. At the same time the club is working behind the scenes to assemble a new technical staff, particularly after the departure of several employees.
Schreuder is currently considered the only remaining top candidate for the coaching job. If that deal collapses, Jérémy Taravel will stay on as interim coach for the time being. The departure of scout Laurenz Van Looveren is also part of a broader reorganization within the club's scouting and recruitment department.
