OTHER Because of Olivier Renard's dismissal and the search for a new sporting director and coach, Thorgan Hazard's contract extension is currently on ice. Het Nieuwsblad reports today that Hazard hasn't heard anything about a new deal for two months. It is known that Anderlecht made an offer in the autumn: a one-year contract with an option for an additional year. Hazard himself prefers a straight two-year deal.
Hazard currently earns €1.8 million a year. Those figures will not be part of his new contract, but he can live with that. Although we have not seen the best of Hazard this season, he remains very important for Anderlecht, with 11 goals (six penalties) and nine assists in 32 matches.
