INTERVIEWS From June onwards, Yari Verschaeren's future will lie outside RSC Anderlecht: his contract is expiring and no agreement could be reached regarding his situation. His brother Mathias Verschaeren, who is also his agent, emphasizes that Yari is currently fully focused on the Purple & White. Mathias acknowledges that Yari has gone through a difficult period, but also states that he has worked hard to earn a place in the team.
“He also hopes to win the Belgian Cup with RSCA,” he says.
However, his agent categorically rules out Turkey, the Middle East, or the MLS as future destinations for his brother: “Yari sees more opportunities in Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, or Italy. The sporting aspect is the most important thing for Yari Verschaeren,” he says.
