OTHER There is a chance that head coach Rudi Garcia will include some surprising names in the Red Devils' upcoming training camp in the United States. Anderlecht players Thorgan Hazard and Killian Sardella are said to be on the extended preliminary list, and young talent Nathan De Cat could also get a shot with the national team. The Belgian squad leaves for the U.S. on 25 March for two friendlies: against the United States on 28 March and Mexico on 1 April.
Garcia will announce the final call-ups on March 20. Injuries to several regular internationals could make this selection look different from usual. Thorgan Hazard has recently become important again for Anderlecht. Playing as a ‘false nine', he scored five times and provided three assists in his last five matches. His last cap, however, dates back to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Killian Sardella is included in the preliminary squad as well, although he is currently getting little game time at Anderlecht. Injuries among some defenders could still give him an opportunity. There is also attention on Nathan De Cat. The 17-year-old midfielder is currently with the U18s but remains eligible for a senior call-up.
