OTHER Anderlecht is taking its time to find a successor to sporting director Olivier Renard, but with busy months ahead a bit more urgency would be welcome. In the meantime Jérémy Taravel will remain coach until the end of the season, which provides stability within the squad.
The search for a new sports director is ongoing, with several candidates already screened; until a choice is made CEO Kenneth Bornauw and his team are temporarily calling the shots. The new chief will inherit a long list of files.
There are contract questions around players such as Thorgan Hazard and Colin Coosemans, while young talent Nathan De Cat may be leaving. Decisions also need to be taken about experienced names like Ludwig Augustinsson. Contracts for the likes of Mats Rits and Yari Verschaeren are running out, and a number of loaned players could return. Anderlecht must also make calls on loan players such as Mihajlo Ilic and Moussa Diarra.
In short: whoever takes over the sporting direction will be immediately faced with a busy and complex task.
