OTHER RSC Anderlecht is still looking for a new technical director, more than two months after Olivier Renard's departure. According to CEO Kenneth Bornauw, the search is deliberate and not hurried. The club refuses to be driven by time pressure and stresses that day-to-day operations are not at risk for the time being. To find the right candidate, Anderlecht is working with an international recruitment firm that handles the initial selection and contacts.
That way the club maintains a professional distance and candidates are screened thoroughly — not only for expertise but also for their social skills. The new sports director must, Bornauw says, be more than a scout or manager. The club is primarily seeking someone with standing in the football world, who can both support and challenge coaches and players. “Putting together a squad requires specific knowledge and experience,” Bornauw said. The emphasis is on leadership and credibility within the club structure.
