INJURIES Danylo Sikan has been missing from RSC Anderlecht's matchday squad for several weeks. The 24-year-old striker is struggling with a persistent adductor issue, possibly linked to pubalgia, making surgery increasingly likely. The forward, who was signed from Trabzonspor in January for roughly four million euros, has so far failed to make an impact in Brussels. In six appearances — three of them starts — he has totaled 227 minutes without a goal or an assist.

In the recent games against Club Brugge, KV Mechelen and Cercle Brugge he was left out of the squad altogether. Sikan has long suffered from an overload in the groin area. Previous treatments with injections provided only temporary relief, so surgery is now regarded as the most effective solution. The club is weighing two scenarios: an immediate operation so he can be fit in time for next season's pre-season, or postponing it until after the championship, allowing him to possibly contribute during the play-offs — albeit with a limited training program. The striker is reportedly taking the situation hard, especially given the price tag and expectations that accompanied his arrival. In the meantime his sporting standing appears to have weakened.

Thorgan Hazard is currently being deployed as a false nine, while Cvetkovic and Adriano Bertaccini sit higher in the pecking order. A decision on the next steps is expected shortly. Inside Anderlecht there is cautious optimism about a smooth recovery, particularly compared with the difficult rehabilitation of César Huerta. Huerta underwent an initial operation in Mexico and had to be re-operated on in Belgium, and he is still not available for selection.
