OTHER RSC Anderlecht is among the clubs that have already been granted their professional licence for next season. Remarkably, almost a third of Belgian clubs still need to regularise their files. Of the 34 professional clubs, 11 were not granted their licence in the first instance — a rising number compared with last year that underlines the persistent financial and structural problems in Belgian football. While clubs such as Zulte Waregem and Dender still have to convince the commission, Anderlecht is now regarded as an organisation that is stable, solid and compliant with the Pro League's requirements.
In that respect, the purple-and-white are on the right track. The clubs that were initially rejected will appear before the commission on 8 and 9 April, with a final decision due on 24 April.
