OTHER Under pressure from a ruling by the Belgian Competition Authority, the Pro League has adjusted the rules for U23 teams in 1B. From next season they will also be eligible for relegation. This season, however, remains unchanged. Any U23 side that is relegated must be replaced by another U23 team promoted from the amateur divisions, ensuring that four development teams remain active at the country's second professional level.
The amateur branches — Voetbal Vlaanderen and its Walloon counterpart the ACFF — still need to approve the proposal. If they refuse, the discussion will start all over again.
