TRANSFERS RSC Anderlecht has reopened talks with goalkeeper Colin Coosemans about extending his contract. His current deal runs until 2027, but negotiations had stalled for a long time. In the meantime there appears to be renewed momentum. Coosemans, who plays an important role in the squad as captain, was already offered a new contract in 2025.

That proposal — featuring a modest pay rise and performance-related bonuses — was never signed. It was no secret inside the club that then-sporting director Olivier Renard was not fully convinced by the keeper, which made the offer less attractive than expected. Since Renard's departure the situation has shifted. Under new CEO Kenneth Bornauw and his associate Thibault Dochy, a specialist in sports law, talks have been resumed. According to sources, the negotiations are currently taking place in a positive atmosphere. Where an agreement seemed out of reach six months ago, a contract extension is now drawing closer. All signs point to Coosemans defending the purple-and-white goal again next season.
