OTHER It has now been two months since Sporting was left without a sporting director. Two months in which supporters keep asking the same question: who will take back charge of the sporting policy? Meanwhile the file pile is growing. The new season is being prepared now, not in July...


Since Olivier Renard's departure, Anderlecht has opted for collective leadership: Borguet, Bornauw, Dochy and Verwilghen share the responsibilities. That is far from ideal. A club like RSCA needs a strong face, a decision-maker who cuts through, articulates a vision and defends the dressing room. Without a sporting boss, progress is difficult. The future of Thorgan Hazard, the contract extension for Colin Coosemans, the delicate situation around Nathan De Cat, the development of young talent and the choice of head coach for 2026–27... these are all decisions that, in principle, require a sporting director. Kenneth Bornauw, however, has reiterated: we will not rush.

The next sports director must be legitimate and experienced, and able to work within a structure where decisions are taken with multiple stakeholders. In short: a solid profile, respected and capable of asserting himself both in the dressing room and in the office. Various names are circulating, but nothing has been decided yet. Anderlecht wants to make the right choice, but time is starting to run out... Several names are being mentioned: Antoine Sibierski, Marc Overmars, Nils Koppen, Pascal De Maesschalck and Marijn Beuker. But will any of them actually become the guardian of the purple-and-white project? For now, no one seems willing to take it on...
